Happy Birthday from Hana Japan at the Berkeley Marina

Hana Japan at the Berkeley Marina is a fun Teppanyaki restaurant.  The chefs are like entertainers, performing tricks as they cook in front of you.  Among other things, they create a volcano/explosion using a stack of onions, which is great fun.  They also have a birthday special where you eat basically for free on your birthday.  The location, at the Berkeley Marina, is scenic - great place to walk after you eat.

Flora, in Uptown, Art Deco gem! Highly recommended!

We went to Flora a few nights ago.  The food was yummy, sophisticated art deco environment.  We will be back!

I love Blake Gardens!  Today, there is a free tour of the Gardens at 2:00PM, meet on the event lawn.  This place is an amazing place for photographs and a magical walk!

Great night out at The Sound Room, in downtown Oakland, CA

I loved visiting the Sound Room in downtown Oakland, CA.  The Sound Room is the home of the Bay Area Jazz and Arts Inc. (BAJA)  BAJA is a nonprofit organization that nurtures music, art, and creative ventures through live performances and educational programs.  They sell wine, beers, and yummy appetizers!  The sound is amazing because they hired a sound engineer when creating the space!

This is a wonderful place to spend and evening listening to jazz!

Restaurant Recommendation in Rockridge, CA - Beef and Bourbon

We went to Beef and Bourbon yesterday for dinner, it was delicious!  This place is such a great location as it is walking distance from the Bart Station.  Our waiter was super helpful, food was excellent, and dessert was amazing!
